Tomorrow Is Never Promised

So many things in life are taken for granted and half of the time we usually don’t even realize it. In my opinion…hands down….our tomorrows are almost always taken for granted. We just always expect to have our tomorrows…it’s true you know….we make our plans….go about our business…booking our appointments…flights…trips…dates…and so on and so on.

But this is what we’re supposed to do….right? Sure it is…..so go ahead….make your plans as we go about our business…booking our flights…trips…dates and so on and so on. It’s called living life…but the problem is…is that everything in the world…is at our very own fingertips. Therefore we will always take things in life for granted.

Take a minute…look all around you. Everything in your life is always there for you. Your electricity…running water…food in your pantry…a warm bed at night…family and friends that love you..yep…that’s right…people too.

But once again…we are all so “spoiled” at having “it all” that we take it all for granted. I don’t think that we mean to….we just do….because…we always forget…..that tomorrow is never promised.

We don’t need to dwell on that fact…it just may drive you crazy with worry. The fact is…is that you just need to remember that life and all that it has to offer…can be gone in an instance. Because tomorrow is never promised.

The love of another…whether it is a family member…friend or the love of your life…it can all be taken away…without any warning and for no reason at all. Our life’s journey can be a peculiar thing…with its ups and downs…excitement…let downs and heartbreaks…but that’s just it…it’s our life’s journey…people….places and things…will all be a part of our journey to learn and grow from…so we plan…and even teach as we go along our path….but we all have a tendency to forget how precious each day really is….until it’s too late.

Music has a way of expressing one’s feelings when words just don’t seem to come….and the one that comes to my mind is…

“If Tomorrow Never Comes”…

by Garth Brooks…..I hope you enjoy it.

The thing about this beautiful song…is that our tomorrow may not come….not necessarily the other way around. We have so many people in our lives….from family to friends…even coworkers and neighbors. It’s so important to not leave anything unsaid or even undone…..because….we never know what the next day will bring.

Live your life… every single day to the fullest. Oh…sure…there will be obstacles…deadlines…delays…something that will complicate and disappoint….but again it’s part of your journey and life’s lesson.

So, never forget to be kind to one another….cherish every moment…learn from your mistakes….say hello and thank you….it may be the last nice thing someone hears. Count your blessings…be there for one another…and above all forgive….because forgiveness…..simply cleanses the soul.

Enjoy your life…it’s your journey and it’s worth it. But remember that it can all be gone in a flash…so appreciate what you have and what others have to offer you in return….be kind….be selfless…be happy…be grateful….but above all….love with all of your heart….as if there were no tomorrow.

Because…my friend…tomorrow is never promised.

  4. This becomes more apparent as I get older. So many days are routine and uneventful, but then you get that one day where something comes out of nowhere and changes your life forever. It has taught me to be more spontaneous and to never expect things to go according to plan.

    1. So true, Laura. Thank you for checking out my post.
