Happiness…It Lies Within

Did you know that people have been searching for the key to happiness forever? Well, they have…and they are. Some people seem to think that the key to happiness is to have the ability to live well and have all the high-dollar items that money can buy…while others think it’s the perfect romance….or love story…so to speak. So many others will search high and low in hopes of finding their, “happiness” so with that… they will pursue so many different avenues to try to find it…like extravagant travels…extreme sports and the list goes on and on.

But the true reality of it all..is that we are all born with the key to happiness. Being happy is a choice that each and every one of us makes every single day….day in and day out. This rings true with everything that we do in our life every day and with each and every experience in our lives. With whatever we have going on in our lives.

It’s being able to find that happiness within ourselves that is so hard for so many people. The sad part for so many…is that it’s always been there..deep down inside. But the hardships in life get in the way…take control and sometimes even consume.

Burning The Candle At Both Ends

Finding That Middle Ground

We all have such busy lives..whether it be raising children while holding down a job or two or while trying to juggle more responsibilities than anyone really cares to have. But, for so many..always trying to make ends meet will become a struggle all on its own. Sometimes, just every day…day-to-day living and responsibilities become overwhelming..making even the smallest of tasks just way too much to handle. Everything becomes so monotonous, that the happiness that lies deep within…slowly becomes overshadowed by the things in life that weigh us down. Think of our happiness as being a candle. This candle is within us all…and it’s meant to shine ever so brightly….but for so many…the candle will burn at both ends. This simply drains everything out of us…our energy…our ability to think clearly…our moods….our happiness.

Yea…well…easier said than done. Even I can attest to this. We all have the inevitable plate…called life…we continue to fill it with everything under the sun….everything in life that comes our way…and then we realize that we are overfeeding ourselves in more ways than one. Never allow your priorities to take over your happiness…it’s so important to prioritize…find that middle ground. You will be so happy that you did.

The Loss Of A Loved One

What can I say really..there are absolutely no words that can or will heal a broken heart when someone we love departs this earth. It’s almost like when we lose a loved one…they not only take a piece of our heart..but also a piece of happiness that only their life on this earth could fill. Their leaving leaves a huge void in our lives. For most people, time will finally ease the pain, but the longing for them will always remain. But for so many others..the hurt is almost too much for them to deal with and the healing process almost comes to a standstill… because of this they almost get stuck, per se in the grieving process. With all due respect… but to me, it is almost as if the grieving individual eventually does try to move on…but actually has guilt in doing so. But what they don’t understand is that the loved one that has passed on..needs for them to be happy again…not to dwell on their passing…it truly hurts the soul that passed on to know that their loved one has lost its spark for happiness. It’s okay and even healthy to grieve…and to grieve at your own pace…just never let it consume you.

Happiness…I feel is not only a way of life…but is almost mandatory…well, to keep your sanity anyway. Make a promise to yourself my friend to get up every morning..say a little prayer..and get on with your day…the good man upstairs hears our prayers..no matter how big or small. He even knows the absolute right moment to answer those prayers….some may take years…never loose hope. Never forget….you and only you hold the wonderful key to your own happiness…I think that maybe it’s time to open the lock. Much love to you all.

  1. Brenda,

I do not know – whoever lied to us that ‘the other person is happier than me’ messed up happiness. It has eluded even the most learned and polished of mankind. The constant need to compare ourselves is – to our disappointment – entrenched very deep in the hearts of man. Could that be how social media found the sweet spot for success?

Yes, happiness stems from within. Even if all around is gloomy, dark, and sickening, you decide how your happiness flows. From the depth of man flows the issues of life to influence and infect others – that is the motto for each day. Not on Thanksgiving holidays only – but each day.

I cannot contain this – i have to share.

    1. Hazlo, I thank you for stopping by and reading several of my posts and I thank you so much for sharing this particular post. 🙂

  2. I see so many moms around le who are sad to have to go back to work shortly after giving birth. It’s all due to needing that paycheck to make ends meet. That’s why I started my blog to share financial tips. I think we could all be happier without money stress. Having lots of money would not make you happy, but not having enough could make you sad!

    1. I completely agree. It really does go both ways. Thank you for your comment, much appreciated. 🙂

  3. I really love when you say ‘never allow your priorities to take over your happiness”. It is something we messed up with. Happiness is a feeling and it has nothing to do with what we have or we don’t. You are such an inspiration Brenda! Thank you so much!

  5. Beautifully written Brenda. My mother was one of those who was never happy with what she had, she wanted a better car, nicer house, more money etc. I love nice things but am happy in my life with what I have and who I have in my life makes me much happier. I also believe that experiences far outweigh things. Enjoy every moment we have and be grateful for every opportunity.

    1. Thank you, Justine. I completely agree with you. We would all love “better” things…but should be grateful for what they already have. I appreciate your kind comment.

  6. I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything you have to say! Yes happiness is all within us… and it’s up to us to find it and nurture it to become the best we can be! Thank you for sharing.

    1. Thank you, so much my friend. Your opinion really touches my heart. 🙂
