It’s Okay…To Get Carried Away
Why are we all so “conservative” with just about everything in our lives? Everyone is almost always so prim and proper with so many aspects of their lives. Oh, don’t get me wrong…I for one knows that there are a time and a place for everything in life…but sometimes we all need to just let loose…let your hair down..and get carried away.
Music…It Fuels The Soul
Have you ever been driving in the car with the radio on…minding your own business…when all of a sudden this great song comes on the radio that you can’t help but sing along and even dance a bit? Well, if you haven’t you really don’t know what you missing…Here is a prime example of a great song…..to well…..get “jiggy” with it!!!
Ok, well I grew up in the ’70s and I think this song rocks! Don’t even get me started on the songs that get me to singing and dancing! Both of my little dogs will vouch….if they could anyway…. that I will break out dancing and singing when I’m cleaning the house on a Saturday morning when the music is blaring! Music….it’s a release….it will clear your mind and fuel your soul so…go on…turn up the volume and get carried away.
Indulge A Little…Or A Lot
To diet…or not to diet….that is the question. For the most part…we all watch what we eat…try and work-out or at the very least attempt to. There are fast-food restaurants everywhere….temptations all around…holidays that cause us all to “fall off of the food wagon.” But didn’t you know…that this is where “will-power” comes into play? Oh..yes….no matter your age…we are all trying to keep an eye on our waistline! Trying to hang-on to that will-power…..it’s easy for some…but not so much for others. Nevertheless….it really is ok….every once in a while to indulge…..to just get carried away.
Embrace The Moment
Have you ever gone to a baseball game or maybe even a concert where there are people around you that just sort of sit there…never get excited when the ball leaves the field or the best double play just happened? Better yet you’re at one of the best concerts that money could buy…the music is blaring and your singing at the top of your lungs….probably evening dancing along to the music. Yet again….you see people around you barely tapping their foot! I never could understand it. I can’t sit still…I need to “participate” with the best of them. I mean….whats the point in going if you don’t feel “free” enough to be a part of all of it! Sometimes…we all need to let our hair down….sing, dance, clap our hands….even hoot and holler…..but above all……get carried away!
Romance…It’s In The Air
A romantic at heart….yes… you guessed it….this is absolutely me. Aren’t we all? No…not really. But for me… I love to hold hands…leave little love notes…slow dance in any room… cuddle…kiss a bit longer…. you know…all of that “gushy” stuff…just to name a few things. You know, even if you aren’t the “romantic” type….maybe your partner is. So…maybe they are the ones that are really missing out. Romance…..it’s the name of the game… we’re supposed to aim to please and be romanced in return. If you’re not really the romantic type…just dig down deep….it’s really ok…to start with baby steps…..don’t worry, you’ll eventually get to where you can……get carried away…..you’ll be glad that you did.
A Gift Called Love
It’s everywhere you look and even waiting to be found. So many will search high and low and for some…may have always been right there by their side and some may never even find….their gift called love. A very special kind of love is one that starts out young and finds their way back after many…many years apart. Those that are meant to be will always be. But for so many more…their gift of love will grow gradually and prosper to a love that is beyond words. But one must always remember that the gift of love comes in so many wonderful shapes and sizes. From the love of a parent, child or friend. To companionship love of a coworker…neighbor and even a new friendship….all of these types of love is truly a gift and must be treated as such. But what you should always remember is that with any gift of love….you should always…go ahead and get carried away.
Getting carried away…I am so guilty of this….it may be one of my biggest faults….but it is….what it is….for me this is something that will never change. I highly recomend everyone getting carried away with one thing or another in their lives….it’s such a wonderful feeling….so go ahead….get carried away.

Great post! I usually listen to music while cleaning and sometimes allow myself to get carried away. It may make cleaning take longer, but it makes it way more fun!

I loved this post. So different to all other new year posts. I love the idea of getting carried away. Like you music does that for me but a damn good book has the same effect of transporting me to the world of the book.
