Moments That Matter In Life

The moments that matter in life……where do I begin really….there are more things in life that matter than I will have time to list…..more than we all will ever really know. But I can share with you some of the moments in life that matter the most to me….and maybe…just maybe…they will matter to you too.

For me….it’s the smallest of things that will touch my heart and embrace my soul. Oh, sure…there are the obvious things that matter to me…the job promotion…the raise and even the praise you receive from your employer. But…it’s when I overhear my employer praising my work…to a complete stranger or another staff member…that is what means the most to me.

That Simple Smile

It doesn’t sound like much….but if you really look at the big picture of a sweet innocent smile…you will come to realize the huge impact that it really does have on the person that it is meant for. Have you ever been standing in the check-out line of a grocery store and the person in front of you has a sweet little baby or even a toddler in the grocery cart….and they look at you with that smile that is so innocent that it melts your heart? Or better yet….the smile that a complete stranger will give you when they simply pass you by…in a hallway or just wherever…because sometimes….your smile back to them can leave an impression that will stay with that person for all of eternity.

That Gentle Touch

The simple act of holding hands…placing an arm around one another….chutching an arm…and the ever so special hug….they all tug at my heartstrings…they are all free and they are endless. Did you know that a gentle touch that you give or get back in return…can stir up emotions that the giver and receiver will feel that can leave a mark….that sometimes words can never explain? This is the best feeling ever. That gentle touch….it is effortless and well worth it. So….go ahead….indulge.

Newborn Infatuation

I was blessed with a sweet baby boy on June 24, 1983. He became my world….my entire life from the moment I felt his first kick while growing in my belly. It was the entire pregnancy process….for me that started out as a moment to never forget….to a love that grew so strong that I will never allow leaving my heart. There are so many precious “little” moments in my eyes anyway that really matter in life with a newborn. That little smile with that drooling mouth….so innocent…so perfect. The tiny little toes that will grow so fast….the delicate little fingers…holding on so tight….to that sweet baby smell that will steal your heart.

So many “firsts” from a growing baby to a child….these are all of the moments that really matter in life. The first day of school…their first scrapped knee…..first broken heart…late-night talks and a shoulder to cry on. These things and so many more are moments that will always remain in your mind as your child begins to thrive.

Was It Something I Said?

First impressions are everything. Whether it be on the telephone or face-to-face. These little …simple moments in life…can make an impression that can stay in your heart forever. “Thank You….”I’m sorry…..I love you….why are these words so hard to say for so many people? In my eyes….when people cannot or will not say, thank you or I’m sorry…I feel that they just have nothing to be thankful…or sorry for. So…before you “forget” to say those simple little words….think again…it really is something very important that matters in life. “I Love You”…..we feel it in our very core…sometimes when we least expect it….so share it…let the other person know how you feel….it may just be the best thing for that person to ever hear.

Things Remembered

The Kindness Of A Stranger

It’s the little things that mean a lot…..it the simple moments in life that will stay with you forever. This kind stranger that holds the door open for you…or even helped you get your grocery cart “un-stuck”….better yet…the driver that will let you in because no other driver would…or how about when you let a driver in and they waved “thank-you”….this is such a nice jester. I always wave “thank-you” but so many people do not….it’s as if you were “obligated” to let them in line….and you know what…when traffic is blending two lanes to one…people should still wave thank you….because it’s just the right thing to do. So…take the time and wave a thank you to a stranger….it just might make their day.

Your Very Own…Special Moment

You’ll experience them…when you least expect it. Whether it’s a moment made alone or with that someone that has crossed your path at that very moment… just embrace it because..that’s what it’s there for.

We all have our own special moments in life…..moments that we can share…and moments that we keep and cherish all to ourselves. But never regret that very special moment that made your heart smile and your soul to thrive….it was a moment in time that was meant to be. My hope for you…is that with your reading this….that I will have made an impression on you…that I too will be a moment in your life that was meant to be.
