You say…that you don’t know me….well…I am okay with that…but here is the thing…you don’t really have to ask….you know…I only ask….is that you try and find out for yourself. It’s rather easy really…you simply get to know…me…that’s it. See…there you go…it’s that easy. There are so many layers to me….but for me….I think that my heart is truly my best feature….my “best-layer” if you will. We all have so many…many layers to ourselves…but it’s what we chose to do with those layers…that matter the most. Growing up…I was always very timid and shy….I can honestly say that I’ve out-grown that trait. But as a young girl…I never wanted to see anyone…get hurt or be sad…because…it would make me feel that way….for that person too. As years have gone by and I have lived through…so many hurts of my own…I have added another layer to myself. That tough outer exterior…to guard my heart… to shield my feelings…Almost as if it is a “protective” outer layer because a broken heart…can sometimes take forever to mend…take forever to heal.
You can find out….once getting to know me that I am extremely compassionate….I can honestly say… almost to a fault. But you know what…..thats okay with me….because…this is me…and this is what I have to offer. I have a deep desire to be there for others….to lend an ear and more importantly….to have a shoulder for you or anyone else to cry on.
Dedication…we all have this drive…to one extent or another anyway…but for me…just another one of my many “layers” of me…once setting my mind to one thing or another…I am “driven” or you may even say….”dedicated” to what matters most.
Simplicity….I don’t ask for much…but…always give more than I receive…because…you see…it’s not material things that matter to me….oh…on the contrary…It’s what one cannot touch…that holds a place in my heart…I am so at fault for really only wanting the simple things in life….and in knowing me….is learning just that.
Friendship….once becoming your friend…I will be there for you for a lifetime….so…please….I ask of you…don’t decide on your own…if our friendship should end….let’s see if we can work things out…don’t just make that decision all on your own…it simply isn’t fair to what we once shared…you must understand…this “layer” of mine…is one that will remain in my heart forever….so…if you get to know me…you will forever remain in my heart…even if you choose to leave…because this is how I am…so remember that.
Accountability…you got it right….once getting to know me….you will soon find that if I’ve hurt your feelings…or upset you in anyway at all…..then I will bend over backwards to make it right…It’s just not in my nature to hurt anyone….It weighs on me heavly…and I will do what it takes to right my wrong.
Desire…you may even learn..that I desire to be the best that I can be..to be there if you ever need me…and to do my very best…to look forward in life…and try not to dwell on the past or things that are completely out of my control.
Worry….yes you read that right….I worry more than I should…I know this…but have a problem with fixing this “layer”. If you are sad about something or have a heavy burden….it will weigh heavy on me too…it’s an emotion that I cannot control because I feel your hurt…loss..your worry….simply said…it is what it is.
Organization….once in “my world”….you will find…that I’m organized to a fault….I’m not perfect by any means…just don’t like disorganization…simply put….I probably go over-board.
Gratitude…once knowing…me. You will quickly learn about how grateful that I am…in all aspects of my life…my family…my health…my job…my friends…for you. I will never underestimate…all that I have and for all that I have to give.
So there you have it…some of the very best parts…of me. Don’t get me wrong…I come with multple flaws….but then again….don’t we all. I challenge you all….to find the best in yourselves and of that of others. It will broaden your thoughts…and soften the heart.
