Glenn Frey…one of the founding members of the rock group, The Eagles. Born on November 6, 1948…Glenn Lewis Frey was an American singer, songwriter, and actor. He was the co-lead singer and frontman for the Eagles. He did share this role with his fellow member and friend, Don Henley with whom, he wrote most of the material for the group. Glenn Frey sadly and unexpectedly left this world on January 18, 2016.
Glenn Frey….he was such musical talent and he had the songs to back it up. I hope that you enjoy the solo songs of the late great Glenn Frey.
Solo…Songs Written and Performed
I attended two Eagles concerts and they were both within the same year. Sadly, Glenn Frey passed away just a few months after the second concert that I attended. I am so blessed to have had that opportunity.
This is one of my personal all-time favorites. But honestly, you cannot go wrong with any song written and, or performed by Glenn Frey. He was a talent in his own right.
He Wrote For The Eagles
The Eagles…Need I Say More…In my personal opinion, there isn’t one song from the Eagles that isn’t a hit. I love them all…and I can listen to them over and over again. They’re all classics….in my opinion anyway. The following are just a few of my favorites that were written by Glenn Frey and performed by the Eagles…Enjoy.
Singing Lead For The Eagles
Not only was he a multi-talent…He was tall, dark and very handsome…in my eyes. He was that rugged kinda guy. Here is just a “snip-it” of classic Eagle’s hits.
I’m a music lover from way back….but this song, New Kid In Town…just touches my soul. Play it and just listen closely to the words…..and you’ll see what I mean.
I love this song…Heartache Tonight….this was always the opening song for each concert that they performed.
Lyrics To It’s Your World Now
A perfect day, the sun is sinking low
As evening falls, the gentle breezes blow
The time we shared went by so fast
Just like a dream, we knew it couldn’t last
But I’d do it all again
If I could, somehow
But I must be leaving soon
It’s your world now
It’s your world now
My race is run
I’m moving on
Like the setting sun
No sad goodbyes
No tears allowed
You’ll be alright
It’s your world now
Even when we are apart
You’ll always be in my heart
When dark clouds appear in the sky
Remember true love never dies
But first a kiss, one glass of wine
Just one more dance while there’s still time
My one last wish, someday, you’ll see
How hard I tried and how much you meant to me
It’s your world now
Use well, the time
Be part of something good
Leave something good behind
The curtain falls
I take my bow
That’s how it’s meant to be…It’s your world now.
This beautiful song was actually written by Glenn Frey and Jack Tempchin and is from the Eagles’ Long Road Out Of Eden album. It was part of a tribute to the late Glenn Frey.
Music…it’s such a powerful tool. It can feed the soul and warm the heart. Glenn Frey..his beautiful music will forever live on..

My favorite concert artist is Jimmy Buffett. This year, Buffett and The Eagles played together in Orlando…on my birthday! It was surreal. AND GlenN Frey’s Son was up there singing, just beautiful. And Vince Gill joined them for the tour. It was a dream come true for me.
Wow, Jenny! I would love to see Jimmy Buffett! Yes, Glenn Frey’s son and Vince Gill are both excellent choices for the Eagle’s tour.
