2020….what a whirlwind of emotions. The year in review….where do I even begin. The year of 2020…..so much…yet so little to even reflect on. Hands down…COVID 19 has had a “death-grip” on the world as we all know it. It has by far exceeded itself in the lives of everyone all over the world. Causing families ….friends….co-workers…neighbors…..and especially strangers to live in fear of….contracting and possibly spreading a virus….that no one can even see. Jobs were lost….lay-offs were made……businesses closed….families torn apart. It’s heartbreaking.
Working Together
People came together in 2020 to help each other….to support one another in a time when most are ready to give up on….well life. So many lives lost….such sadness…..heartbreak…..sorrow. Feeling at times…that there is no end in sight. But there is an end in sight…..it may not seem like it……but it’s there because people pulled together to help one another….working on the “front-line”…helping their neighbors….volunteering at food banks….making masks…delivering food….putting others before themselves because it’s what you do when times are dire and stress levels are high…..people are afraid…hungry and tired…..they just pull together.
Change Will Happen
Babies continued to be born in 2020….their innocent lives brought into this world…..people continued to fall in love….new lives were conceived…..because life goes one….pandemic or no pandemic…..the world still turns. This pandemic will change us all…it already has. Hopefully, people will be more cautious with where they go and with what they do. Unfortunately, this past year has shown that many people are still so hard-headed when it comes to “social-distancing” that they are no longer doing it….becoming very “lax” in that department….unknowingly transferring the virus…..and continuing to spread. This “change” that we are all going through is hard on everyone and we are all handling it so differently. For me…I canceled all family gatherings….lunch dates with my girlfriends….my mom and my sisters. Because…I would rather “postpone” all of those things…than put any of them at risk. It’s all part of the current “changing” in our lives.
I truly believe that…..there will always be birthday parties…..holiday’s galore…..trips to take…..lunch dates to share…..but there is only one you….and I will wait….until the “coast is clear”…..you are that important to me….one day. Isn’t this how we all should be living right now….giving the circumstances?
Then There is Politics
Don’t worry….I refuse to really comment and dig deep into this…because I will probably offend or even hurt people with my political views…..but it is pretty clear that politics played a pretty prominent roll in the heart of all Americans in the year 2020…..and the saga isn’t over yet. So hang onto your boot-straps…the ride continues to remain bumpy!
The Calm..Before The Storm
So who really is kidding who anyway! From hurricanes out the “ying-yang to snowstorms…fires….and heatwaves. The weather for the year 2020 has been as dramatic as the pandemic. As if the health crisis wasn’t enough….people were losing their homes left and right due to everything that Mother-Nature had to offer. “STOP THE MADNESS!”
Praying For A Miracle
It really blows my mind that the world finally has a vaccine….more than one actually…yet so many are skeptical about getting the vaccine themselves. I was beyond excited when the first vaccine was emergency approved by the FDA. I couldn’t wait for my turn to receive my first of two vaccines. My turn came on December 23, 2020….and early Christmas present as far as I’m concerned.
But before….leading up to “my turn”….. social media had and still does have so many negative things floating around out on the “World Wide Web” about the vaccine. This really weighed heavy on my heart…I have never had a fear of getting the vaccine…even though so many of my friends even voiced their “negative” concerns. I can honestly say that I prayed on what I needed to do….and you know what….my head and more importantly…my heart lead me back to my original decision to take the vaccine. I will tell you that after getting my first vaccine…I almost felt like I had received a “coat of amour” of sorts….don’t laugh…I truly felt protected. If my stepping up to the plate will help others then….”Bring It.”!!
New Year…New Possibilities
2021….we are not going to wake up on January first and everything will be back to normal….yeah….right…..good luck with that! Because there will never be a “normal” like we had before COVID 19. But what we will have are new beginnings….in the year 2021…COVID 19 will be nothing but a thing of the past. We will all make new traditions…..and above all new memories. But we all must believe.
My wish for you this New Year to be…..is that you and your family will remain healthy and safe. That any sadness from 2020….be a thing of the past. My wish for you this New Year to be is that 2021 be filled with all of your Hopes…Dreams….and Everything In Between.
